A flagship train is a new level of service that Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing to make travel more comfortable. Flagship trains are made up of new or modernised carriages that offer travellers a high level of amenities. Five such trains have been launched so far, and the list is set to grow.
Features of flagship carriages
A flagship carriage is a carriage with improved travel conditions, found on flagship trains. Its main advantages are:
- New or modernised compartment and luxury carriages: the carriages have modern air conditioning, vacuum toilets, power sockets, USB chargers and baby-changing tables for those travelling with children.
- Improved security: compartments have door alarms and a panic button to call the carriage attendant in an emergency.
- Extra amenities: passengers can enjoy an updated games library, as well as original railway sugar cubes.
- The atmosphere of the route: each train has its own name, logo and music reflecting the historical and cultural features of its route.

- No. 15/16 Kharkiv - Yasinia "Les Kurbas"
- No. 17/18 Kharkiv - Uzhhorod "Skovoroda"
- No. 79/80 Dnipro - Lviv "Sicheslav"
- No. 91/92 Kyiv - Lviv "Leopolis"
- No. 105/106 Kyiv — Odesa "Chornomorets"
Tickets for these trains cost the same as for other carriages of the same class, making them affordable for a wide range of passengers.
Future plans
Ukrzaliznytsia plans to keep expanding the list of flagship trains, setting new quality standards for travel. This approach not only improves the image of rail transport but also makes journeys more comfortable and pleasant for all passengers.
