Ukrzaliznytsia will soon announce additional trains for the New Year and Christmas holidays.
"This year we plan to schedule around 30 pairs of such trains," the company said.
They will mainly run towards Ukraine's winter resorts, including Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod, Lviv and Chernivtsi.
Tickets for the additional trains will go on sale once all seats on the year-round trains have been sold.
On 26 November Ukrzaliznytsia opened ticket sales for all passenger trains departing from 9 to 20 December inclusive.
Sales of tickets for trains departing after 20 December will open on 5 December.
The new 2018/2019 passenger train timetable comes into force on 9 December.
