Ukrzaliznytsia says it is temporarily restricting online ticket refunds.
According to a statement on the carrier's website, the aim is to prevent ticket speculation and abuse and to avoid an artificial shortage during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
The restrictions on online refunds will apply from 15 December 2018 to 15 January 2019.
Ukrzaliznytsia complains that a large number of tickets are bought online in the first minutes after sales open, and many of them are then returned for sale just before the train departs.
There have currently been some delays in ticket sales, caused in part by the launch of the express train from Kyiv's central station to Boryspil Airport. Sales of tickets for trains after 20 December will open by 5 December.
