How to get to Iași Airport from Ukraine

The airport is about 8 km from central Iași. From Ukraine there is a direct Kyiv–Bucharest train, or you can travel by bus via Chernivtsi and Suceava.

  1. Kyiv–Bucharest train via Iași

    • 6:52 from Kyiv
    • ≈16 h

Train No. 99 leaves Kyiv daily at 6:52, runs via Vinnytsia, Zhmerynka, Mohyliv-Podilskyi and Moldova, and reaches Iași late in the evening, about 16 hours later. The return train leaves Iași at night and arrives in Kyiv in the evening. It does not go via Chernivtsi.

  2. Via Chernivtsi and Suceava

    • ≈3 h to Suceava

Another option is a train to Chernivtsi, a bus to Suceava (about 3 hours with the border), then a Romanian train or bus to Iași. Check Suceava–Iași times on the CFR Călători website.

  3. From the station to the terminal

    • ~20 min
    • every 30 min
    • 24/7

Bus 50 runs around the clock every 30 minutes from Iași railway station to the airport and takes about 20 minutes. A ticket costs a few lei and is sold by the driver, in the 24Pay app or at the stop’s machine.

Tips before you fly

  • The train from Kyiv arrives in Iași late in the evening, so plan a night in the city before a morning flight. Bus 50 to the airport runs all night.
  • On Ryanair, Ukrainian passengers must complete the document check online in the myRyanair app. If that fails, arrive at least 2 hours early for a desk check. Ryanair boarding passes are now digital only.
  • Wizz Air check-in opens 2 hours and closes 40 minutes before departure.
  • Romania’s border uses the EU Entry/Exit System, which takes fingerprints and a photo, so allow extra time.
